Craig is now in his second year at Van Wert City Schools as the Athletic Director. He is a graduate of Grand Canyon University where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education with a focus in Social Studies. Craig then went on and earned his Master's Degree from the American College of Education with a concentration in Educational Leadership. Craig has coached basketball, football and baseball in other school districts before arriving at Van Wert City Schools. He is married with three children.
Athletic Director - Middle School
Ben Collins is in his fourth year as the Van Wert Middle School Athletic Director. He also enters his thirteenth year with the high school wrestling program, serving the last six as head coach. Ben earned his Bachelors in Special Education from Heidelberg College and his Masters in Sports Administration from American Public University. While at Heidelberg College, Ben was a four-year letterman in football and two-year letterman in wrestling. He is an 8th grade Intervention Instructor at Van Wert Middle School. Ben and his wife, Tracy, have two sons, Caden (8) and Grayson (5).
Matt is the certified athletic trainer (ATC) at Van Wert High School through Van Wert County Hospital. He holds an Ohio athletic trainer (AT) license and works with the student-athletes of Van Wert High School in caring for sports-related injuries. Matt earned his bachelor's degree from The University of Mount Union in Alliance, Ohio with a major in athletic training and a minor in exercise science. He is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA). Prior to Van Wert, Matt was an assistant athletic trainer at John Carroll University, a Cleveland Clinic affiliate for sports health in Cleveland, Ohio. At John Carroll, Matt worked primarily with the football and men's lacrosse teams.
